Inspector General Police Islamabad, Muhammad Ahsan Younas has said that provision of new vehicles will further improve the performance of the Capital Police. He said that use of public resources for public objectives will not be allowed and national exchequer will be secured as sacred trust.

This was stated by him while distributing new vehicles among the police stations of the federal capital through balloting during a ceremony held at Central Police Office Islamabad on Thursday.

While handing over the keys of new vehicles to SHOs, the Islamabad Police chief said that due to scarcity of government vehicles, the SHOs had to acquire private vehicles for personal use which put bad impact on exemplification of Capital police.

However, the faulty vehicles lying out of use since long have been repaired to make them operational and handed over to each SHO which they use to go to attend meetings, appearing in courts and other routine duties, he added.

Muhammad Ahsan Younas said that the operational vehicles at police stations will not be used by SHOs for pick and drop or other services. He said that balloting for distribution of vehicles among SHOs was aimed to ensure transparency in the procedure.

He further stated that provision of facilities to officials of Islamabad Police will help to eradicate corruption.
