Provincial Ombudsman Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput has called for the Water Board to modernize its water distribution system through emergency measures to effectively address citizens’ complaints about water supply. In a significant meeting held at the provincial ombudsman’s office, Chief Operating Officer of the Water Board Asadullah Khan and senior Water Board officials discussed water supply issues, persistent complaints in certain areas, cracks in water lines, and the payment of dues to retired staff.
The meeting, which aimed to ensure the timely resolution of citizens’ complaints, was attended by Provincial Ombudsman Office Adviser HashimRaza, Registrar MasoodIshrat, and Consultant Brigadier Muhammad Jameel.
The meeting concluded with the decision that the Water Board should appoint a focal person to handle complaints from all regional offices of the provincial ombudsman. This person would also ensure timely communication of actions taken to address the complaints, preventing unnecessary inconvenience for the complainants. Dr. Rajput emphasized that the ombudsman institution is effectively providing affordable and timely justice to the public.
