Propaganda: Govt employees asked to quit social media groups

The Balochistan government has directed its employees to leave and block the pages and groups on social media platforms which are being run to spread “misinformation and propaganda” against the provincial government.
According to the official notification issued on Saturday, Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has taken notice with “great concern” that government employees have subscribed to social media pages and WhatsApp groups which are involved in “character assassination of government functionaries” and fanning “ethnic rifts”.
The public servants or employees working for the Balochistan government have also been asked to block the pages and groups involved in the propaganda activities.
The heads of public departments and other organisations that working under the provincial government have been directed to ensure the implementation on the directives of the chief minister.
In case of non-compliance, strict disciplinary action will be taken by the province’s chief executive, the notification said while asking the departments’ heads to submit the compliance report within three days to the chief minister.
Meanwhile, there is no telemetry system for flash flood warning in the mountainous regions in Khyber Pakhtunkwa, South Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan.
