Profit repatriation from Pakistan increases during July-Sept

Foreign investors’ repatriation of profits and dividend reached $213 million during first quarter of current fiscal years as compared to $58 million during the same period previous year.

As per the data of State Bank of Pakistan, repatriation of profits and dividend recorded massive increase of $155 million.

The highest outflow of profit and dividends amounting to $53.7 million was sent from the petroleum refining sector as against zero amounts during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The financial business sector repatriated $37 million, transportation sector $21.8 million and mining and quarrying $13.9 million.

The repatriation of profit and dividend from Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) in during first quarter stood at $194.9 million and $18 million respectively.

Repatriation in September reached $164 million as compared with $30 million during the same month last fiscal year. During August 2023, repatriation stood at $47 million.
