ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday embarked on a four-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, leading a high-level delegation to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The visit, scheduled from July 6 to 9, marks the first official visit by a Pakistani president to Kyrgyzstan in 21 years and is being described as a significant milestone in relations between the two countries. It follows President Sadyr Zhaparov’s visit to Pakistan in December 2025 and reflects the growing momentum in high-level bilateral engagement.
During the visit, President Zardari will hold one-on-one talks with President Zhaparov, followed by delegation-level discussions. The two leaders are expected to review the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
President Zardari is also scheduled to meet the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament during a courtesy call as part of his official engagements.
Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan enjoy longstanding friendly relations based on shared cultural, historical and religious ties. Both countries have expressed their commitment to further expanding cooperation and promoting regional connectivity, peace and economic prosperity in Central and South Asia.
