KARACHI – Pakistan Peoples Party stalwart Murad Ali Shah has been elected as Sindh Chief Minister for third term, securing maximum 112 votes.
Shah made history as he became chief executive for third time in a row. The polling for Sindh Chief Minister stated at around 2:00pm, as per the schedule announced by Sindh Assembly Speaker Owais Qadir Shah.
The session to elect the new leader of the house started with a 40-minute delay.
Murad Ali Shah contested against MQM-Pakistan candidate Ali Khurshidi who secured only 36 votes amid a boycott by the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and Jamat e Islami.
PTI and JI lawmakers announced that they would boycott the proceedings for the Sindh CM’s election.
