PPP launches human rights cell to promote social justices

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), dedicated to fostering human rights and promoting social justice, is proud to announce the launch of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Human Rights Cell. This initiative aims to facilitate the active participation of working groups in various events to amplify their voices and advocate for human rights causes.

By establishing this cell, Pakistan Peoples Party seeks to bridge the gap between working groups, all stake holders and legislators from all political parties, enabling a more inclusive and meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences.

The event has been organised by Former Senator and President PPP Human Rights Cell, Mr Farhatullah Babar, bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders, including representatives from various working groups, legislators from different political parties, social workers, and panelists from transgender communities.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan and Chairman Pakistan Pakistan Peoples Party, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari graced the event with a special appearance at the Launch ceremony of the PPP Human Rights Cell as Chief Guest.

The panelists of the event included Mr. Harris Khalique, Secretary-General HRCP, Ms. Ambreen Ajaib Feminist and Women Rights Activist, Ms. Bubbli Malik, Executive Director Wajood Society (Transgender Community), Mr. Iqbal Dhetto, Chairman Sindh Human Rights Commission and Ms. Nafeesa Shah, PPP Leader, as Keynote Speaker.

Samana Malaika Raza, PPP Human Rights Cell Coordinator addressing the event said that “In People Party, we firmly believe that human rights can only be achieved through inclusive participation and collaboration. The PPP Human Rights Cell reflects our commitment to empowering working groups and elevating their voices on a global stage. By facilitating their participation in events, we hope to catalyze positive change and advance the cause of human rights.”

Mr. Harris Khalique Secretary General HRPC, raised his voice on behalf of sanitary workers, highlighting their invaluable contribution to the society and advocating for their rights and dignity. He emphasised that sanitary workers deserve fair wages, job security, access to healthcare, and safe working conditions. As part of the launch, the PPP Human Rights Cell will actively reach out to working groups, stake holders, legislators from different political parties and human rights organizations to establish partnerships and promote collaboration every month.
