As per initial reports, unidentified people set fire to polling material at one of the stations situated in the Kesrar Sama area in Tharparkar, as by-polls continued in the district’s NA-221 constituency on Sunday.

Police and Rangers personnel rushed to the area and arrested PTI’s Amanullah Samon and four other workers.

Following two days of intense politicking, against the Pakistan Muslim Leauge-N, in the aftermath of the by-polls in Punjab and Nowshera, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is now vying with the Pakistan People’s Pary.

The main candidates for the constituency are PPP’s Pir Ameer Ali Shah and the ruling party’s Nizam-ud-Din Rahmon.

As many as 318 polling stations have been established in the area, of which 130 have been declared sensitive, while 95 have been declared highly sensitive.
