Police’s SSU SWAT team showcases remarkable skills in UAE SWAT Challenge

Sindh Police’s SSU SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team comprising 08 members showcased remarkable skills in the international edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge 2023, hosted by Dubai Police at Al-Rowaiyah Range.

SWAT Team led by DSP Aurangzeb Khan was Pakistan’s first ever and only SWAT Team which represented the country in the international event.

The event started on 20th February and ended on 24th February, wherein 55 teams from various countries competed in five categories.

The team of NYPD Emergency Service Unit, Akhmat, SOBR, Dubai Police, Sharjah Police, Kuwait Special Forces, Philippine National Police, Saj Srbija, Royal Thai Police, South Africa Special Task Force, PTJ Counter-terrorists Unit, Brasil Sao Paulo SWAT, Fujairah Police, Wolfhound, Saudi Sports Federation for Internal Security Forces, Black Wolves, RAK Police and other different teams participated in the event.

The five categories were of tactical event, assault event, officer rescue, tower event and obstacle course.The SWAT Team displayed remarkable performance in all categories but secured its ranking in top ten in obstacle course category. Lieutenant General Abdullah Alghaiti of Dubai police awarded a special trophy to SSU SWAT Team for securing position in top 10.

The DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed stated that the SWAT team is fully capable to compete at an international level, he applauded the performance of the Pakistani team and wished them luck for future endeavors.
