The Inspector general of Police, Sindh has said that Sindh Police are actively chasing the anti-social elements, street criminals and offenders in order to bring complete peace and tranquility in the port city of Karachi. The overall performance of Sindh Police is satisfactory but it has still to improve. On strict directives by the Inspector general of Police, overall increase in reporting any criminal; act and lodging an FIR afterwards has been made easier and swift and thus the increase in registering FIRs has been up to 23 percent.
During one year time, Sindh Police have registered 81344 FIRs as compared to last year’s 65945 FIRs. According to Police Handout, 81344 FIRs were registered between September 2018 to September 2019 while 65945 FIRs were registered for the same period in September 2017 to September 2018,.
The statement further said that it has been laid to the Police officers and personnel to ensure the curbing of crimes through people-friendly Policing and consolidated intelligence services.
The statement has also asked the Police force to make use of District Criminal Record management System as this system is active for 30 districts and 19 prisons of the province.
