Police officials showing laxity, misbehaving with citizens warned

Following the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, strict departmental action will be taken against officials showing laxity and misbehaving with citizens, a police public relations officer said. He said that, a complaint was received against constables Shajar Abbas and Azhar Hussain of Eagle Squad for misbehaving with the general public and misusing his authority in jurisdictions of Shalimar police station. Following the IGP Islamabad directives, CPO/ DIG (Operations) Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of the complaint and conducted a transparent inquiry in which the Constables were found guilty and a case was registered against them.

The CPO /DIG Operations of Islamabad, Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari, said that the department would continue a zero tolerance policy on corruption and strict departmental action will be taken against such officers and officials who bring disrepute to the department. The officials performing their duties with hard work and good performance will be awarded and encouraged in every possible way, the protection of life and property of citizens is among the top priorities of Islamabad Capital Police, he added.
