Police nick 39 gangsters of 9 rackets in October

Operation against anti-social elements has been underway in a vigorous manner across the province, which has been intensified, especially against notorious criminals, illegal arms and drug dealers and kite sellers following directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani. In this regard, Sheikhupura Police during the last one month took emergency measures to arrest anti-social elements and arrested several wanted criminals. Police teams are not only active in enforcing government directives regarding Corona but also the process of uprooting criminals. In this regard, Sheikhupura police under the leadership of District Police Officer Ghulam Mubashir Mekan arrested 39 gangsters belong to nine notorious dacoits gangs and traced 16 cases against them. A cash amount of Rs1830,000 and 14 precious cellphones were seized from their possession. Similarly, the police also recovered eight motorcycles and modern weapons from them.
As a result of special operation against proclaimed offenders, 50 A-category criminals and 154 B-category criminals were arrested. In addition, arrests of three top ten proclaimed offenders have also been made. A crackdown on illegal weapons was carried out across the district. As a result, 660 accused were arrested and 102 Kalashnikovs, 396 pistols, 30 bore 74 riffles, 71 guns, 10 revolvers and more than 5849 cartridges were recovered from their possession. 660 cases were registered against them in this regard. Indiscriminate crackdowns on drug traffickers continue throughout the district, with 170 drug dealers arrested and 165 cases registered against them, including 310 grams of opium, 151,986 grams of chars , 55 grams of heroin, 18 grams of ice and 3376 Liters of liquor and 02 active distilleries were recovered. Under the National Action Plan, 04 cases were registered for violation of the Loudspeaker Act.
The Sheikhupura DPO commended all Circle Officers and SHOs for taking effective action against criminals and for their excellent performance. According to Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, the district police is committed to ensure uniform implementation of law and protection of life and property of the people.
