The City Police on Wednesday raided the chamber of a prominent lawyer and arrested 24 gamblers.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Model Town Saad Aziz, the police raided and arrested gamblers red-handed from the chamber of a lawyer in Naseerabad area.
He said that a police party headed by DSP Gulberg raided at an advocate’s office on a tip-off in Lahore where dozens of people were busy gambling.
The SP said the police have also recovered Rs135,000, 9mm pistols, bullets and gambling equipment from the possession of the accused. He also confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused who are being further investigated.
Meanwhile, another eight international and domestic flights were cancelled due to operational hazards and shortage of aircraft at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday morning.
According to the Airport Inquiry, the cancelled flights included Airblue’s two-way flight from Lahore to Dubai 203/204.
, Airblue’s two-way flight from Lahore to Karachi 403/404 and Airblue’s two-way flight from Lahore to Karachi 407/408.
Besides that, Serene Airline’s flight from Lahore to Rasal Al-Khaima 1725 and PIA’s flight from Lahore to Sharjah 185 were also cancelled.
