Police hand over Rs2.5m snatched amount to owner

Rawalpindi district police after successfully recovering of Rs 2.5 million looted amount from a citizen at gun point, handed over it to the real owner.

According to a police spokesman, Rs 2.5 million was looted at gun point from a citizen in Cantt area in February when he was going back after withdrawal of the amount from a bank.

SHO Cantt Police Station handed over the amount to the owner. On the occasion, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Muhammad Ahsan Younas, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations, SP Rawal, SP Potohar, SP Security and other senior officers were also present.

Police managed to recover the looted amount from the robbers namely Muhammad Ali and Habib Ullah, arrested by Cantt police.

Earlier, Cantt police had also recovered Rs 10 million, snatched amount from the robbers which were also handed over to the owner.

Police said that those who attack the lives and property of citizens cannot escape the clutches of the law.
