Police action against anti-social elements continues

Police have arrested five illegal arms holders and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession during a crackdown here on Sunday, informed a police spokesman.

According to the details, Civil Lines Police recovered 01 pistol of 9mm from Qamar Abbas. Similarly, Taxila Police held Hakim Khan and recovered 01 pistol of 30 bore from his possession. And same police recovered 01 pistol of 30 bores from Ali Raza while Gujjar Khan Police nabbed Zahoor Khan and recovered 01 pistol of 9mm from his custody.

Following the operation, Chontra Police arrested Saddullah and recovered 01 rifle 223 bore from his possession. Police have registered separate cases against the accused and further investigation was in progress.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari appreciated the performance of the police team adding that the crackdown will be continued against illegal arms holders without any discrimination. He made it clear that it is the duty of the police to protect the lives and properties of people.

Moreover, police have arrested nine kite sellers and confiscated more than 1500 kites and 62 strings from their possession during a crackdown here on Sunday, informed police spokesman.

During the operation, R.A. Bazaar police arrested kite seller Muhammad Fahim and recovered 500 kites and 60 strings from his possession. Similarly, Bani Police held two 02 kite sellers Usman and Awais and recovered 200 kites and 02 strings from their custody. While, Ganjmundi police seized 800 kites from 05 kite sellers Anwar Haq, Hamza, Ali Ahmad Faizur Rehman and Muhammad Ali.

Following the operation, Sadiqabad police recovered 50 kites from kite seller Tayyab. SSP Operations appreciated the performance of police teams adding that Kite flying is a deadly sport and crime. The crackdown will be continued against kite sellers and kite flyers, he added. Likewise, police have arrested five gamblers staking money on cock fight and recovered a stake of Rs 3,400, four mobile phones, and two roosters from their possession during a raid here on Sunday. According to the police spokesman, the arrested gamblers were identified as Raqib, Fida, Khawar, Tahir and Zubair.

Kahuta police registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress. SP Saddar Nabeel Khokar appreciated the performance of the police team, saying that gambling is the root cause of other crimes and that crackdowns will continue against those involved in such crimes. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police have arrested 34 professional beggars from different areas of the city. SSP Operation said that the crackdown against professional beggars will be continued without any discrimination.

The police on Sunday arrested five illegal immigrants residing in the precincts of Pirwadhi Police Station, informed a police spokesman. The Pirwadhi police conducted a search operation and held five suspects who were living illegally.
