In a heartfelt address at the Press Club Thatta, Rasool Bux Jakhro, a prominent PML-N worker, brought attention to the significant challenges faced by residents of Thatta, urging swift action from authorities to address their plight. Jakhro highlighted the severe impact of frequent electricity and gas load-shedding, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the pressing need for relief measures.

Despite his prior allegiance to PML-N and recent candidacy in the general elections for NA-225 under the party’s banner, Jakhro expressed collective frustration over the government’s failure to tackle inflation and provide essential services. He specifically noted the absence of a price control committee as indicative of this neglect.

Jakhro emphasized the exacerbation of citizens’ hardships due to prolonged power outages, which further compound the lack of basic amenities such as healthcare, education, and clean water. He also raised concerns about the precarious condition of school buildings, posing risks to children in Thatta.

Moreover, Jakhro criticized the lack of regularization for local villages in Kohistan and the indifference of wind power project owners towards providing employment and amenities to the community. He highlighted Thatta residents enduring up to 16-hour power cuts, underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive electrification in the region.

In his plea to the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan, Jakhro called for immediate action to address the electricity crisis and soaring food prices, including gas. He also denounced the exploitative practices of wheat hoarders, urging authorities to intervene to prevent further escalation of flour prices.
