Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Marriyum Aurangzeb and AzmaBukhari schooled Pakistan Peoples’Party (PPP) Chairman for his criticism on the party’s top leadership while PPP Senator Palwasha Khan fired back at them amid elections campaigns for fast approaching general elections. Marriyum Aurangzeb and AzmaZahidBokhari, separately, urged Bilawal Bhutto to maintain decorum and shift his focus from the political discourse towards the performance.
The war of words started after Bilawal criticized PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif during his speeches at different conventions in Lahore and other parts of Punjab.
“The era of political abuses was buried in 1990,” said Marriyum, addressing the PPP chairman. She advised Bilawal to avoid indecent language and instead concentrate on discussing the achievements and performance of political parties. She asked the PPP chairman that whether he visited key projects in Punjab such as the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) and Danish schools, and emphasized that Sindh deserved similar facilities as Punjab.
Citing Bloomberg report, Marriyum said Nawaz Sharif held an edge over rivals in this aspect, and touched upon the party’s electoral competition with other parties holding public gatherings, stressing upon their dedication to reviving the economy and generating employment opportunities for the youth. The PML-N’s relief plans, she said, would be unveiled shortly.
On the other hand, PML-N Punjab Spokesperson AzmaBukhari also came down hard upon Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying that “he has reminded the entire nation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder as he has started tarnishing people’s names and making their fun,”
“Now, Bilawal also feels it bad to be an aged person,” said AzmaBukhari while responding to Bilawal’s criticism. She said she could only offer prayers for Bilawal if he had started following Imran Khan. “We are not giving any response to Bilawal because it is our party policy,” said Azma, making it clear to the PPP chairman that he was thinking to get votes just by criticizing the PML-N leadership then he was wrong. The PML-N leader also rejected the claim of the PPP chairman that Nawaz Sharif would take revenge.
“Nawaz Sharif never took revenge from anyone,” she claimed, adding that If revenge had to be taken, from 2013 to 2018, he would not have supported Nawaz Sharif with projects like CPEC.
“The memory of Bilawal Bhutto seems quite weak,” she added. PPP leader Palwasha Khan responds to PML-N’s criticism on Bilawal: PPP leader Palwasha Khan came down hard upon Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by saying that their manifesto seemed to have only one point, which she sarcastically summarized as, “HamariBaat Ho gae hey [Our words alone should suffice],”. w“Is there is not even a one person who could help write a narrative?,” she asked while addressing the PML-N leaders.
She took another dig at the PML-N that there is a huge difference in writing a small Urdu booklet and a manifesto, and rejected the point that Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had any association with the PML-N. “The PML-N is worried due to Bilawal’s success political activities in Punjab,” she said, suggesting that the fear of potential defeat might be contributing to the unease.
