LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar has made a series of serious allegations and claims concerning actress Momina Iqbal and her sister, Ramsha Iqbal, amid an ongoing legal dispute between the lawmaker and the actress.
In his first detailed interview on the matter, Chadhar made several claims about the sisters and their alleged dealings with him.
Speaking about Ramsha Iqbal, Chadhar claimed that he had taken her to Australia for higher education and later provided her with employment at his security company there.
He further alleged that Ramsha had filed a harassment case in Australia against one of his business partners and sought $1 million in damages. According to Chadhar, the matter was later settled for $165,000, which he claimed Ramsha subsequently brought to Pakistan.
Chadhar alleged that both sisters later attempted to adopt a similar approach against him.
He also made claims regarding his relationship with Momina Iqbal, alleging that the actress knew he was already married but was nevertheless willing to become his second wife.
Chadhar said he was initially unaware of Momina’s reported marriage in 2018 and subsequent divorce. He claimed that he later learned about the marriage and also became aware of the identity of her former husband.
The PML-N lawmaker further claimed that Momina Iqbal’s lawyer contacted him and demanded Rs200 million to settle the dispute. He alleged that after he refused to pay the amount, an offer of Rs90 million was made, while Momina was allegedly seeking a settlement of Rs110 million.
Chadhar also claimed to have presented evidence related to his meeting with the actress’s lawyer, along with an alleged settlement agreement, to support his version of events.
The dispute came to public attention several months ago when Momina Iqbal claimed in an Instagram post that she was being harassed by a member of the provincial assembly. Chadhar was subsequently identified in connection with the allegations.
The actress later approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), while Chadhar also presented his position before the relevant authorities.
The allegations made by Chadhar have not been independently verified, while the legal proceedings and investigations into the dispute remain ongoing.
