LAHORE – In preparation for the upcoming general elections, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has disclosed its selected candidates for the National and Punjab Assemblies, distributing over 30 party tickets to family members.
The andidates include family pairs like father-son, father-daughter, husband-wife, brother-in-law, mother-son, father-in-law, and uncle-nephew.
In Lahore, PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz plan to vie for National Assembly seats, while Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz will participate in both NA and provincial assembly contests.
The party also introduced new faces for National Assembly tickets, including Bilal Azhar Kayani from Jhelum and Attaullah Tarar, grandson of former President Rafiq Tarar.
Besides it, the list included Saiful Mulok Khokhar and his son Faisal Ayub, Afzal Khokhar and nephew Irfan Shafi Khokhar from Lahore, and Awais Leghari with his son Amar Leghari from Dera Ghazi Khan
The party lineup encompassed candidates like Khawaja Saad Rafique and brother Salman Rafiq from Lahore, Syed Basit Bukhari and daughter Syeda Shahr Bano Bukhari from Muzaffargarh, and Iqbal Chanar and son Zaheer Iqbal Chanar from Bahawalpur.
Moreover, PML-N features six women for National Assembly and three for the provincial assembly, with candidates like Maryam Nawaz from Lahore, Saira Afzal Tarar from Hafizabad, and Syeda Shahr Bano Bukhari from Muzaffargarh.
