Prime Minister Imran Khan, said on Thursday that those who had mercilessly plundered Pakistan’s money would not be spared. The PM said he was mulling spending the cash recovered from money launderers and the corrupt, on the education sector.
“The federal government is willing to utilize all resources on promoting education in the country”. Prime Minister Khan declared while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences & Technology (PAF-IAST) at Mung in Haripur Hazara division. The institution has been established with the collaboration of Austria for promoting the education of artificial intelligence (AI) and engineering.
Prime Minister said he was pondering passing a law to divert money brought in from corrupt individuals by the government’s asset recovery unit towards education. “The more we invest in education, the more secure our children and country’s future will be”. PM Imran said.
Imran said that Pakistan has capabilities to advance into a development phase by changing the way of thinking. It is the need of time for stepping forward in the field of science and technology for opening a new era of development in Pakistan, he said.
He urged for choosing a path to transform Pakistanis into a great nation saying Allah Almighty will definitely give success to those honestly pursuing a target. He said Pakistanis are not willing to become slaves and wanting to make their own way. Communism is disastrous for the nation and the mental barrier for the slavery of the West should be broken.
“Pakistan needed to move towards becoming a knowledge economy in order to progress and “free our minds” from colonialism — something that diverted the country from its path 15-20 years after the independence in 1947”. Premier said Imran khan thanked China and Austria for assisting the authorities in Pakistan as the establishment of the institute was an important project of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said the federal government was committed to promoting science and technology-based education in the country. Bajwa said that the inauguration of Pakistan-Austria Fachhochschule Institute will reflect the vision of state-of-the-art science and technology. He expressed hopes that the institute will become an exemplary center for the education of science and technology.
