Stresses Opp should not weaken Kashmir cause for petty gains

Amraiz Khan

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday dubbed Prime Minister Imran Khan true ambassador of Kashmir cause, saying the PM has bravely fought the Kashmir cause at every forum and credit goes to him for highlighting the Kashmir issue at the global level.

“The opposition is bent upon weakening the Kashmir cause during the election campaign while ignoring the vital national interest.

It is sheer impassiveness of the opposition parties to prefer personal stakes to the core issue of Kashmir,” the CM deplored.

Meanwhile, the chief minister paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by martyred Kashmiri muezzins on July 13, 1931.

In a message, Usman Buzdar said the then Dogra regime exhibited worst barbarity by martyring the muezzins, adding that the oppressed Kashmiris are facing worst cruelties in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) even after the passage of many decades.

“The people as well as the Pakistan government, are firmly standing with Kashmiri brethren on the Kashmir Martyrs Day,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said the PTI-led government has launched a number of development projects worth billions of rupees to provide quality amenities to the citizens of Lahore.

The CM said the development schemes worth Rs67 billion were announced for Lahore, excluding the much-trumpeted orange line metro project, during the third year of the previous government while the PTI government has earmarked Rs86 billion for various development schemes for the provincial metropolis.

Meanwhile, the Ravi River Urban Project and Central Business District are futuristic initiatives, he added.

The government is building a surface wastewater treatment plant along with underground tanks to store rainwater for use, he said.

Similarly, Dilkash Lahore, electric buses, 1000-bed new general hospital, mother & child hospital at Ganga Ram Hospital, children university, Shahkam Chowk overhead bridge, Ghulab Devi hospital underpass, Sheran Wala overhead bridge, international standard bus terminal at Thokar Niaz Baig, food & drug lab and local government academy are some of the beneficial schemes for Lahorites, he said and added that development schemes will resolve problems while giving relief to the citizens.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of former Olympian Naveed Alam.

In a condolence message, the CM prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

The chief minister also sought a report from RPO Gujranwala about ransom-cum-murder of a 6-year old girl in Hafizabad and directed strict legal action against the perpetrators of the crime. The CM has extended sympathies to the bereaved family and assured them of providing justice.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar paid rich tributes to Captain Basit and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal who embraced martyrdom in an operation against terrorists in district Kurram.
