PM to pay visit to Kazakhstan today to attend SCO summits

DUSHANBE  – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a two-day official visit to Kazakhstan from today for the twin Summits of SCO Council of Heads of State and SCO Plus to be held in Astana.

At the SCO Council of Heads of Summit Meeting, the Prime Minister will share Pakistan’s perspective on important regional and global issues and underline the importance Pakistan accords to regional connectivity and cooperation with SCO member countries.

The Prime Minister will also address the SCO Plus Summit in Astana that brings together SCO member States.

The Prime Minister will also hold meetings with participating leaders on the sidelines of the Summit.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan and Tajikistan emphasized the need for continuous interaction and contacts between the parliamentarians of both the countries.

This came at a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chairman of the Lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan Muhammadtoir Zokirzoda in Dushanbe.

They expressed satisfaction over the cooperation between the two countries at the parliamentary level. They agreed to strengthen the already established parliamentary friendship groups and regular parliamentary exchanges to further enhance bilateral relations.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that parliamentarians play an important role in bringing closer the peoples of both the countries.
