National Identity Card is basic identification document in Pakistan, providing unique identification number to each citizen. It is issued by the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra).

It is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory to obtain documents like license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection etc. Every citizen of Pakistan, 18 years and above, is eligible for NIC.

ID Card is directly linked with healthcare by linking medical records and in education by verifying identities for school admissions. It is also essential for getting SIM cards. The document with 13-digit unique number is linked with centralized system with a single recognizable ID, reducing reliance on birth certificates.

Nadra Smart CNIC Fee Structure in July 2024

The normal fee for a New Smart National Identity Card is Rs750. For urgent processing, the fee is Rs1,500, while the executive category currently costs Rs2,500.

Where to Apply For ID Card

If you are apply for the first time, you will be required to visit any nearby Nadra Registration Centre along with the required documents, including birth certificate or matric result card and CNIC copy of a family member.
