PM to inaugurate KCR next week: Bakhtiar

Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to inaugurate the Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) project next week.

Talking to the media persons at the Governor House along with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, the federal minister assured that KCR project under the federal government would be completed before the end of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s tenure.

He said that the prime minister is taking personal interest in development projects in Karachi including KCR and K-4 water supply scheme.

A day earlier, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar during a meeting with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that steps on modern lines are being taken to increase small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in the country.

He said that the new SME policy will result in an increase in business in the country and said that all possible facilities are being provided to the business community linked with the industrial sector.

Bakhtiar said that all possible facilities are being extended to the business community attached to the industrial sector. He said that all issues related to export processing zones are sorted out, and these will soon be presented before the federal cabinet for approval.

The minister said that an industrial park and export processing zone is being developed on 1,500 acres within the limits of PSM.

He said that the government is taking steps on priority to promote value-added export-oriented industries. —TLTP
