Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch two projects for overseas Pakistanis who have availed the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) scheme in his address on Thursday (tomorrow).
Senator Faisal Javed announced this in a tweet on Tuesday.
Faisal said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is launching two new initiatives for overseas Pakistan under the Roshan Digital Account scheme.
“Roshan Apni Car [and] Roshan Samaaji Khidmat as we celebrate RDA reaching USD 1 Billion mark,” he said while further announcing that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be addressing overseas Pakistanis on Thursday at 11:00am.
“Since the launch of #RoshanDigitalAccount Scheme by PM Imran Khan on the 10th Sep, 2020, more than 120,000 accounts have been opened and more than USD 1 billion worth of foreign remittances have been brought in these accounts,” the senator announced.
Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that funds received under Roshan Digital Account (RDA) have crossed one billion dollars.
In a tweet, the prime minister thanked overseas Pakistanis as funds received through the Roshan Digital Account (RDA) – an investment initiative facilitating foreign investors – crossed $1 billion.
“Alhamdulillah, funds received through #RoshanDigitalAccount have crossed $1b,” tweeted PM Imran.
The premier thanked “overseas Pakistanis for their overwhelming response”. He also appreciated the central bank of Pakistan and commercial banks for achieving the “significant milestone in such a short period”.
The Roshan Digital Account was launched by the PTI government last year, to enable overseas Pakistanis to operate digital accounts in their motherland while sitting abroad.
