PM Shehbaz writes letter to US President Biden seeking pardon for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Friday wrote a letter the US president seeking pardon for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui in her case.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote the letter to US President Joe Biden and asked him for her release and return to Pakistan.

The information surfaced during hearing of a case related to Dr Aafia Siddiqui at the Islamabad High Court (IHC).   Additional Attorney General Manzoor Iqbal Dougal informed the IHC about this important development.

Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan of the IHC was hearing the petition regarding Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s release and return.

Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s sister, Fauzia Siddiqui, filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court. Advocate Imran Shafiq represented Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui in court.
