ISLAMABAD – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Arabia have pledged to fasten first wave of an investment package worth $5 billion.
A joint statement issued after the PM’s meeting with the Saudi leader said the Kingdom will expedite its $5 billion investment in Pakistan.
Sharif called on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Iftar dinner and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest with him.
The Crown Prince extended greetings to Shehbaz Sharif on taking charge as premier for the second time and expressed warm wishes for his tenure.
PM Sharif also extended greetings for Saudi’s support and hospitality and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to bolstering bilateral ties and economic cooperation.
The meeting between the two leaders focused on strengthening close ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and exploring opportunities for increased cooperation across various sectors.
Sharif commended KSA’s supportive role in Pakistan’s economy and expressed a mutual desire to enhance trade and investment ties.
Both leaders also held detailed exchanges on the situation in Gaza and called for international efforts to stop Israeli military actions in Gaza.
The two also discussed the Kashmir dispute and underscored the significance of dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.
Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman accepted Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan at the earliest opportunity.
