DAVOS – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Commander of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, are attending the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, where they have become the focus of attention among global leaders.
The WEF, an influential platform for international economic discussions, has seen both leaders engage in informal and cordial meetings with prominent figures.
Among those they met were the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
During these interactions, the leaders exchanged smiles and demonstrated a warm atmosphere.
Both Prime Minister Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir also attended US President Donald Trump’s special address at the World Economic Forum.
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to maintaining fiscal discipline, boosting revenue generation, and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
On his official X account, the prime minister referenced his recent discussion with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Davos, where they exchanged insights on the global economic landscape and emphasized the crucial role of multilateral cooperation in maintaining economic stability.
Shehbaz Sharif further stated that during their conversation, he briefed Georgieva on Pakistan’s improving economic indicators, the country’s stabilization efforts, and progress in implementing structural reforms.
The IMF Managing Director acknowledged and commended these advancements.
