Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the last group stage match of the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup in Harare on Thursday.
Chasing a meagre 129-run target for victory, Pakistan crossed the finish line with eight wickets and 142 balls remaining.
Player of the match Sameer Minhas was the top scorer for the Green shirts with an unbeaten 74 off 75 balls, hitting six fours and three maximums. Usman Khan contributed 26 off 23 balls and Ahmed Hussain an unbeaten 24 off 53 balls.
Panashe Mazai and Michael Bignaut picked up one wicket apiece.
Bating first, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 128 in 35,5 overs. Opener Nathaniel Hlabangana was the highest scorer with 59 off 85 balls, laced with seven fours and one maximum. Brandon Senzere contributed 15 off 39 balls and Shelton Mazvitorera an unbeaten 12 off 14 balls.
Ali Raza bagged three wickets and Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Momin Qamar two each, while Ahmed Hussain took one wicket.
