Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that he is much saddened over loss of precious lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab due to heavy rain followed by windstorm.
Taking to his twitter handle on Sunday, the prime minister said that to lessen the miseries of the rain hit population, the rescue departments and relief teams were taking all possible measures.
Shehbaz Sharif said, these were effects of climate change resulting in damage caused by unusual hailstorms, untimely rains and melting of glaciers without any doubt.
These weather events were not only causing loss of lives and property but were also badly affecting agriculture and economy, he said adding Pakistan was one of the countries which were adversely affected by climate change.—INP
