Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that democracy does not get worse by transparent accountability but through corruption.
In a statement issued by Governor’s House on Tuesday, he said that democracy and all the institutions including parliament are getting stronger. The opposition’s plans have nothing to do with the nation and the country. All the opposition’s A to Z plans of personal interests will flop and only the government’s plan of progress and prosperity will succeed. Pakistan image is improving on world arena with every passing day, and it is also achieving triumph on diplomatic front and this is what the ‘new Pakistan.
He said that there is no word of ‘vengeance’ in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ideology and the government does not believe in revenge but in supremacy of law, the Constitution and transparency. ‘We want progress and prosperity in the country for which purging Pakistan of the menace of corruption as well as ensuring transparent and indiscriminate accountability of corrupt elements is indispensable. Prime Minister has time and again made it clear that there will be no compromise on elimination of corruption and transparent accountability.
The governor said that opposition is blaming of ‘politics of vengeance’ in a bid to escape accountability but the people of Pakistan are well aware that who had been committing what with the country therefore the opposition cannot succeed in its designs by making hue and cry. People of Pakistan are stood by Prime Minister Imran Khan and the government.
Insha Allah, we will fulfill all promises including ‘not the two but one Pakistan’. Programmes like Ehsas and Undergraduate Scholarship are bringing about a real change in the country. Provision of maximum relief and basic facilities to common man is top priority of the government.
Country can’t progress
without empowering
women: Begum Sarwar
Wife of Punjab Governor Begum Perveen Sarwar has said that no country can progress without empowering and prospering the women.
She was addressing on a ceremony held in connection with International Women’s Day and later talking to media at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday. She said that the federal and Punjab governments are enabling the women to excel and also taking effective steps for their employment.
Compromise on injustice and violence against women is out of question. On this occasion, Punjab Assembly members Ayesha Chaudhry, Azma Kardar, Saadia Sohail and Shahwana Rasheed, and a large number of women participated in the ceremony.
In her address, Begum Perveen Sarwar said that any society in the world can never progress where women’s rights are denied. “We all have to make a pledge that together we will strive for women’s rights as well as make it sure that we will raise our voice where there is any violence against women, besides ensuring provision of due rights to every woman. This will definitely strengthen and prosper Pakistan.”
MPAs Ayesha Chaudhry and Azma Kardar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, PTI’s federal and Punjab governments will fulfill all the promises including related to women. Rights and protection to women will not be compromised. PTI government is supportive to every woman and they will not be left alone.
