PIC Karachi organized two day training workshop

Pakistan Information Center (PIC) project of the Press Information Department (PID) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized  a two-day training workshop on News authenticity and tools to counter the fake news and anti-state propaganda on May 9 and 10 at a private hotel in Karachi.

The training workshop was attended by members of Karachi Press Club, journalists associated with various TV channels and newspapers and media studies students, besides, journalists and students from other cities of the province also took part in the online workshop.

Gibran ashraf served as Lead Trainer in the two-day training workshop.During the training, he provided training to journalists and students not only to recognize fake news and anti-state propaganda but also on journalistic values and ethics.

For the two-day training workshop, trainer Gibran Ashraf taught the participants advanced tools to identify fake news and anti-state propaganda.Karachi Press Club (KPC) Secretary Shoaib Ahmed and other prominent personalities as guest speakers informed the workshop participants about using tools to identify fake news and propaganda against the state.

On the second day of the workshop, PID DGPR Madam Erum Tanweer gave certificates to the trainer, guest speakers and trained journalists and students.

Pakistan Information Center has so far provided training to almost 11 thousand journalists, Media Students & Social Media Influencers  across the country, PIC Provides training to journalists in all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Islamabad.
