A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight steward, Faisal Majeed, has been apprehended for attempting to smuggle 16 expensive mobile phones from Canada into Islamabad airport, as confirmed by the airline’s administration. The incident occurred upon the arrival of flight PK-782 when customs officials discovered the phones, which Majeed had wrapped around his body. Following the discovery, he received a show-cause notice from PIA, requiring him to provide an explanation within three days. The notice stated, “Your act has damaged the reputation of PIA,” warning that failure to respond satisfactorily could result in termination from service.
