PIA set up maintenance facility as part of revival plan

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has established full-fledged maintenance facility, as a part of its Revival Plan, at Islamabad where the overhauling of its A320 aircarft will be carried out.
In this regard, PIA Engineering for the first time successfully completed “Check A” on one of its A320 aircraft after completion of 750 flying hours at Islamabad Engineering base, said a statement issued here on Tuesday.
This facility was previously available at the airline’s Karachi.
A formal but simple ceremony was held at Islamabad to mark the event. In his message on the occasion, President & CEO PIA , Air Marshal Arshad Malik while congratulated Chief Techincal Officer PIA, Amir Ali and the engineering team on performing successful “Check A”,
He said that it is a great achievement through which PIA will not only save millions but the convenience of schedule will be enhanced. He said that he was confident of airline employees who continue to work with the same zeal and enthusiasm, PIA will soon achieve new heights and the results are evident now. —APP
