PIA and the Canadian High Commission will work together to enhance investment in Pakistan, promote cultural exchanges, and further improve air connectivity between the two countries.
Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Tariq Ali Khan, held an important meeting with PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat at the PIA Office in Islamabad. The meeting included detailed discussions on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada, air connectivity, trade, culture, and other issues of mutual interest.
According to the PIA spokesperson, during the meeting the Canadian High Commissioner assured full cooperation regarding codeshare and air cargo agreements with Canadian airlines. These agreements are expected to significantly enhance air links and increase trade volumes between the two countries. PIA will facilitate the access of Canadian products to Pakistani markets.
The High Commissioner also invited PIA to participate in joint initiatives to promote trade and tourism, which will enable the national airline to gain better access to the vast North American market.
According to PIA spokesperson, this meeting is an important milestone in the strong and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Canada. The PIA management will continue to take effective measures, in collaboration with the Canadian High Commission, to provide further facilities in the fields of air travel and trade.
The Canadian High Commission will also support codeshare agreements between PIA and Canadian carriers, which will play a key role in the national airline’s revival, expansion, and strengthening of its global presence.
