As per vision and instruction of Punjab Inspector General of Police Shoaib Dastgir and directives of Additional IG PHP Capt (r) Zafar Iqbal Awan, swift actions are being taken for the protection of life, honour and property of the common man on roads. In this regard, PHP headquarters issued previous week performance report.
According to details, Punjab Highway Patrol upholding its tradition, served the public on roads with determination and helped the public in many ways. In order to increase efficiency of the department, different branches of Punjab highway patrol executed projects under different heads.
The report said that 222 cases were registered on violation of traffic laws, 95 cases on keeping illegal weapons and 76 cases were registered against persons on charges of drug trafficking.
Similarly, 4 Kalashnikovs, 16 rifles, 14 guns, 56 pistols, 81 cartridges, 10 magazines and 453 bullets were recovered from the accused, besides 1,572 liter alcohol and 29kg chars were recovered from different accused persons.
Moreover, the Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 28 proclaimed offenders and 08 court absconders. Furthermore, patrolling police provided service to 141 commuters on roads during traveling, 06 missing children were also returned their parents whereas taking action against encroachment, 92 temporary encroachments were dismantled.
Additional IG PHP Capt (r) Zafar Iqbal Awan said that PHP officials are committed to serving the masses, especially in the wake of Corona pandemic without caring for their lives.
