Punjab Government and employees of Punjab Health Management Facilities Company (PHMFC) have reached an accord and the later have called off their protest on progress in acceptance of demands. Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Environment Protection and Cooperatives Mohammad Basharat Raja represented the Chief Minister and held talks with the officials of the Employees Association.
PHMFC Employees Association President Javed Anwar, Chairman Mian Sagheer, General Secretary Asghar Zohrani and other office bearers called on provincial minister in his office. Chief Minister Ch. Pervaiz Elahi has constituted a high-powered committee under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, which will include Secretary Primary and Secondary Health, Secretary Finance and three representatives from the Employees Association.
Raja Basharat said that the committee will review all the demands and send the recommendations to the Chief Minister.
“It was decided in the negotiations that the contracts of all the employees of PHMFC will be extended immediately”, he said.
He assured that the future of the health management company will be decided by June 30 and no action will be taken against any protesting employee.
The delegation thanked the Chief Minister and Raja Basharat for accepting the demands. On this occasion, Raja Basharat also gave a copy of the agreement to the officials of PHMFC.
