Philippines’ Marcos signs 94.55b USD budget for 2023

Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on Friday signed the 5.268 trillion pesos (roughly 94.55 billion U.S. dollars) 2023 national budget into law, the administration’s “comprehensive financial roadmap for sound public financial management” to boost economic resilience against future challenges.

Marcos said at the signing ceremony that the 2023 budget “bodes well for our future, for the next year.”

“And the very least, we know that we are all together and will be moving on the way to transforming our economy. We will be moving in the same direction, following the same plan, the same way, with the understanding that this is the best path to progress and prosperity,” he said.—APP
