On the request of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), a two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday sought a reply from the contractors of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in an alleged corruption scam.

The bench, comprising Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah, also sought details of amended NAB rules to check the jurisdiction of the bureau to investigate the matter.

The lawyer of the petitioner informed the court that the Public Accounts Committee had ordered NAB to investigate the matter despite the fact that the PAC did not have the mandate and PHC had also declared the project legal.
