PHC accepts writ petition against PBC member

Peshawar High Court (PHC) circuit bench Abbottabad while accepting the writ petition against the member Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Syed Amjad Shah, whose degree has been challenged to be faked as notification issued by University of Punjab & declaration of its result for LLB 1992. The court issued notice to respondent to appear in person along with original degree of LLB examination 1992 on the date fixed.

The Court also directed Vice Chancellor University of Punjab, Chairman Higher Education Commission, Secretary Pakistan Bar Council and Secretary KP Bar Council for providing their comments on 16th February 2022. The dual bench comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmed & Justice Ibrahim Khan accepted the writ petition No. 80-A/2022 filed by Hafiz Muhammad Nasim Khan Advocate through Asad Tanveer Qureshi & Syed Shah Faisal Advocates in which Attorney Genera of Pakistan, Advocate General KPK, Pakistan Bar Council, KP Bar Council, Vice Chancellor University of Punjab, Chairman Higher Education Commission, Secretary Law department KPK, President District Bar Association Abbottabad, President High Court Bar Association Abbottabad, President Supreme Court Bar Association Islamabad and Syed Amjad Shah were became parties.

The petitioner prayed that status of respondent Syed Amjad Shah as Advocate / Member Pakistan Bar Council may be declare as illegal, unjustified, based upon fraud, forgery and resultantly void abinitio being a product of fake LLB degree.

The high court sought comments from Pakistan Bar Council, KP Bar Council University of Punjab and Higher Education Commission on fixed date which is 16th February 2022 and directed Syed Amjad Shah to appear in person along with Original degree of LLB examination 1992.
