Petrol Price Increased By Rs For March 2025 Check New Petrol Diesel Rate

ISLAMABAD – Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have been increased, with the new rates coming into effect from August 21, 2026, according to the latest notification issued by the Petroleum Division.

The latest petroleum price hike in Pakistan has pushed the price of petrol up by 27 paisas per litre, from Rs. 337.51 to Rs. 337.78 per litre.

The increase in High-Speed Diesel (HSD) price is higher, with diesel becoming Rs. 1.64 per litre more expensive. Its price has risen from Rs. 363.06 to Rs. 364.70 per litre.

Under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism, the petrol price in Pakistan has been revised upward by 27 paisas per litre.

The new ex-depot petrol price is Rs. 337.78 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs. 337.51.

The adjustment means motorists across the country will pay the revised petrol price from August 21.

The latest adjustment has resulted in a more noticeable increase in the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD).

Diesel will now cost Rs. 364.70 per litre, compared with the previous price of Rs. 363.06, marking an increase of Rs. 1.64 per litre.

The higher diesel price could have a significant impact on the transportation and logistics sectors, where HSD is widely used to operate commercial and heavy vehicles.

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government’s updated petroleum pricing mechanism.

According to the government notification, the revised rates will be effective from August 21, 2026, and consumers will immediately start paying the new prices.

August Petrol Prices

Pakistan’s petrol prices saw significant fluctuations in August 2026, falling during the first half of the month before rising sharply in the final week. Petrol started August at Rs336.03 per litre and gradually declined, reaching the month’s lowest reported rate of Rs324.98 on August 13.

Prices then reversed course, rising to Rs331.20 on August 18, Rs334.54 on August 19, and Rs337.51 on August 20. Overall, petrol ended the period Rs1.48 per litre higher than its August 1 price, despite dropping by more than Rs11 during the first half of the month.

The frequent changes were linked to Pakistan’s revised petroleum pricing mechanism, which considers international oil benchmarks, exchange rates and other pricing factors, including a seven-day rolling average.
