ISLAMABAD – The government Wednesday raised the petrol price by Rs5 per litre and that of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.01 per litre for the next fortnight of September.

Similarly, the prices of kerosene and light-diesel oil (LDO) have also been increased by Rs5.92 and Rs5.42 per litre respectively.

With the increase, the petrol will now sell at Rs123.30 per litre, diesel at Rs120.04, kerosene at Rs92.26 and LDO at Rs90.69.

The new prices will be effective from Thursday (Sept 16) to the end of the month.

A day earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended a surge in petroleum prices.

Reports said that Ogra has sent a summary to the Petroleum Division, which will take decision after having consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The new prices will come into effect from September 16.
