Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; wet spell to continue

PESHAWAR – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), westerly wave prevails over upper and central parts of Pakistan.

Under the influence of these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Batagram, Malakand, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Laki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai and Waziristan on Friday night and the next two days. Isolated heavy falls/hailstorms are also expected during the period.

Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 36-38°C on Saturday and 33-35°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 29 per cent.

In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 63 per cent.
