PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night and Monday.
As per the synoptic situation, a strong westerly wave prevails over most parts of Pakistan. Moisture from the Arabian Sea is also penetrating southern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Karak, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Waziristan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan on Sunday evening/night and Monday. Isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are also expected during the period.
Heavy rainfall may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Manshera and tributaries of the Kabul River till 15 April. Landslides are likely in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 16-18 degrees Celsius on Monday and 22-24 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Peshawar and parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwaduring in the last 24 hours.

Bannu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature reached 26 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 80 per cent.
In Peshawar, maximum temperature was recorded at 19 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 90 per cent.
