PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the prevailing cold wave to persist in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next two days.
As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday.
Extremely cold weather is likely in upper districts.
Fog update for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Dense Fog is likely to persist in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas during the period.
Dense fog will continue to disrupt traffic on inter and intra-city roads.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.
Meanwhile, the cold wave persisted in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.
Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 07 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 02 C.
Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 70 per cent.
The dense fog disrupted traffic on inter and intra-city roads in the plains.
