PESHAWAR – Cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday.
Light rain and snowfall over hills is expected in upper districts during the period.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave will likely effect western and extreme northern parts of the country from tomorrow evening/night.
Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province and very cold weather is hilly areas on Monday night and Tuesday.
Light rain/light snowfall is expected at a few places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Bajor and surroundings. Frost may occur at isolated places in upper districts during morning hours. Light to moderate fog is likely to occur at isolated places in Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas during morning hours.
Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts and extremely cold in upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.
Kalam remained the coldest place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the temperature dropped 05°C below the freezing point.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 02°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 41 percent.
