Gold Price Trends in Pakistan

Despite Saturday’s steep decline, gold has posted a substantial gain over the course of August. At the beginning of the month, 24-karat gold was trading at approximately Rs428,000–430,000 per tola. Prices subsequently climbed rapidly, approaching Rs484,000 per tola during the final week of August.

Based on these levels, gold has gained roughly Rs53,000–54,000 per tola during the month, representing an increase of around 12.5–12.6%. The metal traded in the Rs481,500–484,000 range between August 24 and 26 before coming under renewed selling pressure from August 27.

The latest decline therefore represents a correction after a strong monthly rally rather than a reversal of the broader August advance.

Pakistani gold market has experienced significant swings this year. Prices crossed the Rs500,000-per-tola threshold in January before entering a weaker phase between March and June. By July, the market had settled around Rs420,000–430,000 per tola.

The trend changed sharply in August, with gold staging a strong recovery that pushed prices close to Rs484,000 before the latest correction.

In August 2025, the precious metal was trading at approximately Rs360,000 per tola. Compared with the current rate of around Rs467,936, gold is now roughly 30% higher year-on-year.
