In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior leader People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Naeem Akhtar was on Monday afternoon released from detention after nearly five months.
Media reports, confirming the development, however, said that Naeem Akhtar has been placed under house arrest soon after his release.
Naeem Akhter, as per PDP spokesman, Najam-u-Saqib, was handed over to Saddar Police Station, today, following which he was shifted to his residence in Humhama area in Srinagar.
“He has now been put under house detention,” Saqib said.
Naeem Akhter was detained on 21st December, 2020 and was lodged at MLA hostel in Srinagar.—KMS
