Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Usman Buzdar said that PDM is an unnatural alliance of rejected and frustrated elements, negative attitude of opposition parties has become a part of history, opposition only wants to protect its personal interests.
Chief Minister met the Provincial Minister Local Body, Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed to discuss issues of mutual interest as well as political and important issues and performance of the department.
Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed briefed CM about the performance of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Punjab Cabinet has unanimously approved the law draft of the Local Government Punjab Act, 2021.
The new Local Government System will play an important role in solving the problems of the people at the grassroots level.
Moreover, it will empower the people by completely transferring the powers at the grassroots level.
The new municipal system will usher in a new era of development at the local level. The problems of the people will be solved at their doorsteps, he added.
Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Local Government Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed met with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office and apprised him about departmental performance besides discussing matters of mutual interest.
The CM appreciated that the draft of the Punjab Local Government Act 2021 has been approved by the cabinet adding that the new LG system would solve public problems at the grassroots.
The people would be empowered by devolving power for resolving people-related issues at their doorstep; he repeated and maintained that the new local bodies’ system would start an era of composite development.
Meanwhile, the opposition is only interested in safeguarding its personal interest; he regretted and termed PDM an unnatural alliance of rejected and frustrated cabal which ignored national interest by playing a negative role as it has no agenda for the masses.
The negative attitude of the opposition parties is known to everybody as they have lost credibility in the public, concluded the CM.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken strict notice of an incident of modeling in the premises of Gurdwara Kartarpur and sought a report from the chief secretary.
The CM directed authorities concerned to hold an enquiry adding that action be initiated against the staff that allowed modelling.
The government fully respects the sentiments of every minority community in Pakistan and is saddened over hurting the emotions of the Sikh community, he maintained.
He directed to initiate a comprehensive investigation of the incident and take action against the delinquents and justice should not only be done but also be conspicuous.
In addition, Meanwhile, On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, the maiden cultural policy 2021 has been approved and Culture Minister Khayal Ahmed Kastro presented the policy to CM on Monday. Secretary Information & Culture briefed about salient features of the policy.
The CM commended the efforts of the culture minister and information secretary and directed to expedite the spate of cultural activities.
The credit goes to the PTI-led government for formulating the maiden cultural policy of the province, he stated.
Under the policy, the artists would be brought under the social safety net while promoting norms of societal peace and brotherhood through cultural activity, he added.
