LAHORE- Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has installed the state-of-the-art Trueman 3 bowling machine at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to provide players with a more realistic, match-like training environment and enhance batting preparation.
The PCB sources said that the advanced bowling machine replicates real match conditions, enabling batters to sharpen their skills against a wide range of deliveries The system features a high-contrast LED animation of the bowler on a front display, helping players read the bowler’s action, release point and timing before the ball is delivered.
The machine allows coaches to adjust the line, length, speed, swing and height of deliveries, while also enabling them to save individual balls, overs and complete bowling spells. These can later be replayed to recreate specific match situations, giving players valuable practice under game-like conditions.
Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed described the Trueman 3 as the latest innovation in cricket training technology, saying the PCB is the first cricket board to introduce the machine. He noted that, unlike conventional bowling machines where batters often struggle to identify the release point, the Trueman 3 displays the bowler’s action before the delivery, allowing players to improve their anticipation and preparation.
Pakistan’s white-ball captain Salman Ali Agha said the technology would help players adapt to the demands of modern cricket. He explained that because the ball is released in sync with the bowler’s action, batters must maintain match-like timing, making training more realistic and effective.
The PCB believes the installation of the Trueman 3 bowling machine will significantly improve batting standards by allowing players to train in conditions that closely resemble competitive match scenarios.
